Guided Snowshoe Walks - Tour Stevens and Snoqualmie Pass

Location : Stevens and Snoqualmie Passes

Get outdoors and learn about winter ecology snowshoeing on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest January through March. No experience is necessary and the Forest Service provides snowshoes. Participants should wear layered and insulated clothing, hats and gloves with sturdy, waterproof shoes or boots, hats and gloves. To offset the costs of the program a donation of $10 per person is suggested for all tours except the extended hike and photography outing at Snoqualmie Pass, where $20 is requested.

Groundhog Day in the Methow

Join MVSTA on Groundhog Day, Thursday February 2nd at 9am from the Town Trailhead and ski in search of WILBUR! Last year Wilbur was spotted retreating into his home after seeing his shadow and ensuring 6 more weeks of winter. They are hoping for the same result this year!

Baker Lake Snowshoe Excursion

Join Dave Moskowitz, author of A Field Guide to Pacific Northwest Wildlife and Tracking, to explore the foothills of the North Cascades while learning winter mountain ecology, plant and animal survival strategies, wildlife tracking and the natural history of snow. 

Mt Rainier Winter Camping & Snowshoeing Overnight

Join REI for an overnight camping and full moon snowshoe trip to Mt. Rainier in the crisp, quiet season of winter. Learn about what to bring, how to carry it, what and how to cook, how to manage water, navigation, snowshoeing and camp skills including how to stay warm in an intensive, cold-weather-focused, 2 day course. We will teach you the best ways to handle the cold to thoroughly enjoy the beauty that winter backpacking has to offer. Price includes all meals, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, stoves/cooksets, park entry fees, transportation and pre-trip informational meeting.

"StorySki" trails are 1 kilometer cross-country ski loops lined with the stories of the books Polar Opposites and Polar Polka. The ski trails allow young skiers and their families to ski while reading an entire book, gliding through the magic of winter in the Methow Valley.
