My North Cascades Story - A North Cascades Winter Wonderland

A North Cascades Winter Wonderland

By Holly Werran, photographer

It was a beautiful moonlit evening in April, the first possible day the North Cascades opened to traffic after the winter.

We pulled out our snowshoes and loaded the trees, generator, lights and cameras on two sleds and packed into the Washington Pass overlook to see Liberty Bell for the first time that year.

We set up the trees and cameras and waited for dusk.

This is my favorite time of the photo shoot because I can stare at the beauty around me and remind myself how good it is to have beautiful areas like the North Cascades protected forever. And look what we get to do here - create beautiful art.

These are the moments that make up the best in life!

Happy Holidays!
